c1850 French Louis Phillippe period (1840-1858) five drawer chest of drawers In Cherry wood with walnut secondary wood, original locks, and finish in superior condition.
A beautiful example of this understated period in French furniture design and making focused on the simple architecture of the piece and the grain of the wood, not elaborate ornamentation. This piece features beautifully matched cherry over the entire surface, chamfered corners, simple moldings, and a hidden fifth slipper drawer on the bottom of the piece.
Its quiet elegance will fit in contemporary as well as traditional rooms with ease.
