Its made from a cast of a real human skull, probably female, and is complete with teeth, lower- and upper jaw. This particular example shows patina and wear. The skull as a symbol serves as a reminder of human mortality - memento mori. Made in Europe circa 1930-60 and its Indistinguishable marked: Leblac or Le Blance. Possibly distributed via the American retailer Maxilla and Mandible Ltd. in New York during the 50s. Measurements: 21 x 14 x 11 cm. less
