This clock keeps time fine. Aesthetically the clock itself is in pretty good condition yet it does shows signs of age and use as one would expect with an item of this age. The (plexiglass) dome is marked in places, in particular it has an approximate 3/4" scratch near the top of it (see pic). However the dome is solid/ intact and its integrity is not compromised in any way. Examine all the pictures closely. Zoom in & out to get a good sense of its exact condition: a picture tells a thousand words. The item photos serve as a document as to its condition. This is an interesting Anniversary dome clock, made I believe in Eastern Europe by Cardinal in the 1960s or 70s. Cardinal were somewhat prominent watch / clock makers based in Russia (USSR) and Czechoslovakia round about the mid-20th century. This quartz clock keeps time fine. It requires TWO AA battery (not included) - one for the quartz clock unit and one for the ticking "suspension" balls.
This clock is a fine example of Eastern European clock manufacturers who copied their German neighbors. The clock itself and dome are both plastic, but its base is marble which is somewhat rare, since the German Anniversary clocks tended to have metal or plastic bases.
Also of interest is the fact that this clock was sourced at the Sony Prop House in Los Angeles which closed down in September 2023. It has an old Sony label on it, so if you think you may have seen this clock in a film or T.V. show, then you probably have! I have no C.O.A. other then the Sony label which I assume was added so as not to lose the clock on a studio set somewhere.
All or all this clock - besides telling the time and looking fabulous - will make a great conversation piece. This is the only one I have so don't delay if you want to make it yours!
