An exceptionally good … more Stunning fully restored pair of antique hand dyed Cigar brown leather club armchairs with Gothic carved panels. An exceptionally good looking well-made and comfortable pair of armchairs, I have four of these in total, this sale is for a pair with the option to buy all four listed under my other items. The chairs are circa 1900-1920 Art deco, they have fully coil sprung frames so the back, seat base and arms are all sprung, this is the most comfortable (and expensive) way to make a club armchair. The seat cushions are all feather filled. The leather is thick saddle hide upholstery which was fitted new a couple of years ago, we have washed it back and hand dyed it this glorious rich cigar brown colour which is exclusive to my leather polishers. They have hand dyed maybe 5000 pieces for me over the years, this is the only suite to have this exact colour, it is amazing. The carved panels are way earlier, I'm not sure exactly how old but they look and feel gothic, sometime in the 17th to 18th century for sure, they are continental European and a work of art in their own right. Dimensions Height:- 91cm Width:- 87cm Depth:- 88cm Seat height:- 44cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point\. CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade. less
