This stunning original 19th century Louis Philippe Ebonised & Marquetry inlaid writing table with extending side leaves and gilt bronze fixtures and fittings A very fine table, made from luxury amboyna and satinwood with burr walnut and as mentioned gild bronze decorations. This is a very high quality table, it would have been designed as a ladies writing table originally, I would imagine it was also used as a silver or tea table at some point In terms of the condition the piece has been cleaned waxed and polished, the idea being to keep it as original as possible so all the period patination is still present. There are some losses to the gilt metal decoration at the back Dimensions Height:- 73.5cm Width:- 65.5cm closed 96.5cm open Depth:- 50cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
