Royal house antiques is delighted to offer for sale this lovely pair of george smith signature scroll arm sofas with … Read more Royal house antiques is delighted to offer for sale this lovely pair of george smith signature scroll arm sofas with overstuffed feather filled cushions which are howard & son's models this is a very finely made pair of sofas, from george smith chelsea and in the world famous howard & son's drop arm model, this is pretty much the most quintessentially english model of sofa you will ever see the sofa is made from beech wood and has a very comfortable webbed base with thick over stuffed feather filled cushions, these are antiques of the future and some of the finest, hand made in england examples you can find anywhere upholstery wise my plan is to ultimately have this reupholstered in either mulberry flying ducks or william morris forest linen, in truth i have so many other projects on the go at the moment i have decided to list these as they are and let new owners chode the fabric, i can say the current upholstery is ok but not to my taste, the condition of it is fine but not 100% perfect as things stand one sofa has a pretty accurate colour, the other is heavily faded, you can't see it in the picture listed here but it is very faded dimensions height:- 93cm width:- 206cm depth:- 106cm seat height:- 56cm please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. Condition please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the around condition please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade. official proof of authenticity,
