We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely pair of fully restored 1969, limited edition of 60, hand-dyed whiskey brown leather Peter Hoyte councilors armchairs with Hardwood frames that have internal storage. As things stand there are six in the world that look like this, they were originally finished with a cream upholstery but as you can see, I’ve had them custom restored and hand dyed using traditional methods to this stunning rich Whisky brown colour There were as mentioned 60 of these in circulation and they were custom-made to order by the renowned Peter Hoyte for the Darlington councilors to sit in, lucky councilors! The frames are as mentioned solid Hardwood, this timber is now an endangered species and is no longer available for furniture, the arms raise up to reveal storage, the Darlington armorial crests were embossed in the leather on the back but they fade over the decades The bases are solid brushed aluminium, these are without question the coolest chairs I have ever seen Dimensions Height:- 87cm Width:- 85.5cm Depth:- 76.5cm Seat height:- 41.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution less
