This console table was hand made from poplar around early 20th century by the craftsman from Gansu province, a province with rich history and culture in the Northern west part of China. The top shows age proper patinas, dents, knots, naturally aged lines, spots, and wear and tears. The restoration to this antique table from countryside of Gansu Province is kept to minimum intentionally. Four elegantly shaped legs, ending in horse hoof feet and humpback stretchers. All joints are still firm and tight. A fine example of traditional Chinese joinery: Every piece of wood is calculated to interlock in a seamless way to provide structural strength and enhances the beauty of the design. This table with its rustic black color, beautiful aged top will make an simple elegant console table, accent table or just a table in a hallway, entryway, living room, or dining room. An elegant classical Chinese wine console table as well.
