The actual … more "The Presidential" is a wonderful desk / table clock made in the USA by Zonemaster in the 1950s. The actual clock is encased in a brass round globe which sits on a slanted base. The globe has a beautiful etching of the world on its top and back. The actual clock itself works fine when it is plugged in and the AM-PM lights light-up depending what time of day it is. When one moves the "zone" dial the inner hands move to a particular / different world time zone. Unfortunately the "directory" dial is not working. When one moves it, the cities do not scroll (perhaps though this is an easy fix for someone who knows how). All in all this is a really fascinating clock that is sure to be the highlight of whatever desk or shelf it eventually finds itself on.

Also of interest is the fact that this clock was sourced at the Sony Prop House in Los Angeles which closed down in September 2023. It has an old Sony label on it, so if you think you may have seen this clock in a film or T.V. show (Mad Men? Superman? Sunset Blvd?), then you probably have! I have no C.O.A. other then the Sony label which I assume was added so as not to lose the clock on a studio set somewhere.

What a wonderful conversation piece this clock is. It's the only one have so don't delay if you want to make it yours. :o)
