In a few places the paint has begun to peel slightly, for example in the lower right corner. Signs of restoration are visible. On the back of the painting there is a restoration patch measuring 2 by 2 centimeters. It is located in the upper left corner of the painting. The intervention is minimally visible on the front side of the painting in the form of a small line about 2 centimeters long. The frame of the painting is a brand new one so it is in a great condition. In our opinion, no further restoration of the painting is needed, there are no stains or bitumen and we believe that it will not need cleaning. less

He got … more Maurice Sterck was a painter who was born in 1907 in Moerbeke-Waas and who died there in 1972. He got training at the Academy in Ghent under the direction of Coddron and J. Verdegem. Realized Wase and Kempen landscapes, farm views, interiors and flowers. From the press: 'The tranquility, the melancholy of the Kempen landscape with its endless distances, twisted pines, wide skies and meager huts, corresponded perfectly with its soft, poetic, somewhat melancholic nature.'
