- 1950's Pine telephone shelf unit came with a 50's houses I bought a while back. A neighbor told me that … more 1950's Pine telephone shelf unit came with a 50's houses I bought a while back. A neighbor told me that the eccentric original owners would travel to LA to buy replica early American furniture to go with the red cottage house. Almost all the furn. was period to the house style. This shelf unit was hung on a kitchen wall and was left with the house. I had it professionally refinished in clear gloss lacquer. The finish is amazing. There is a small hole drilled in the rear for a telephone cord (I presume). It has two useful drawers and metal hanging hardware attached to the back. Doesn't go with my new place so sadly has to go. less
