On the Design:

This rug is a particularly rare antique Persian Rug, known as a Dabir Kashan rug. Kashani rugs from the Dabir workshop are still well known for using some of the highest quality wool and for a particularly fine weave.

Here, blue, rich red and light gold underscore floral patterns in a play of medallion and all over style, with particularly fabulous definition in the patterns and borders. Exemplary of a Kashan, among the ideal one would find today for its large size, smart use of color and this celebrated provenance among admirers of the craft.
