These strikingly beautiful and good sized … Read more A rare pair of museum-quality early 19th Century porcelain trays in scalloped oval form. These strikingly beautiful and good sized pieces are carefully hand painted in great detail with wild English flower bouquets over a celadon glaze and crisp white floral decoration in relief along the borders. Flowers such as bluebells, hawthorns, peonies, hollyhocks and daffodils abound. All surrounded by a gilt border.
Each signed on the underside "Spode" and "2190" painted in red. Remarkably good condition with only minimal signs of age and wear.
Can be used as trays, catchalls, platters or even on a dresser or vanity.
