The zig-zag iron and the recently installed vertically striped designer fabric -- not to mention the presence of fabric itself -- bring to mind some of the more extraordinary 1890-1910 Austrian Secessionist lighting fixtures by the likes of Josef Hoffmann, for instance. These sconces were purchased by myself in France (in an impossibly cute little village in Provence). Note the lovely hammered design in the wrought iron, and of course the floral cluster in the front, at the bottom of each sconce. Recently rewired and fitted with American candelabra sockets, each capable of hosting a 60-watt bulb. Shouldn't these be installed in the bedroom, the light dimmed for just-right ambience? Valentine's Day, coming right up!
