guillermo capdevila abatte (santiago, chile, 1947 - pamplona, spain, january 10, 1999) was a chilean industrial designer established in spain. He is considered the pioneer of industrial design in the basque country from his stage at the vizcaya industrial design center, in the mid -1980s.
he studied at the school of industrial design at the then technical and industrial institute of santiago of the university of chile current metropolitan technological university, in santiago, chile, which has appointed him outstanding student. In the early 1970s, it was part of the synco project industrial designers team, the cyber system of management and information transfer promoted by salvador allende.
fleeing the difficult political circumstances of his country, he traveled to europe and completed his training at the royal college of art in london in 1976. He subsequently established his residence in spain and was a collaborator of the public company industrial design center dz of the provincial council of the provincial council from vizcaya, current bai innovation agency. His work in this institution was highlighted, for contributing a vision in line with international currents. He founded "capdevila asociados, design of products s.a." and specialized in industrial technical design and appliances.
his professional work, in some cases revolutionary in europe, reached international projection, being a creditor of several international awards, including the simo award in 1985 for the design of the zx spectrum 128 computer 128 this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
