This is a woodcut engraving entitled "Concrete Mixer, Moscow" by Albert Abramovitz created in 1935 after a visit to the Soviet Union. It depicts three Russian workers talking in front of a wooden structure housing a cement mixer. Two additional workers are seen in the background on the right carrying an object on a pallet.
This is an excellent woodcut impression, printed on deckle edge thin chain-linked Japanese mulberry paper with wide margins. It is pencil signed by the artist in the lower margin on the right. The title is written on the verso in pencil. The sheet measures 9.5" in height and 11" in width. There is some discoloration in the lower margin that maybe soiling or could be related to the paper manufacture. A tiny tear is present at the lower edge. The print is otherwise in very good condition. less
