This original framed graphic art lithographic poster entitled "Chez Panisse Cafe & Restaurant Sixteenth Birthday" was created by David Lance Goines in 1987 in his Berkeley studio. The poster was printed in 8 colors in an edition of 1416. It depicts a wooden barrel with a hand operated churning device, presumably for the preparation of ice cream. The poster was created to celebrate the 16th anniversary of the opening of the famous Berkeley gourmet restaurant, Chez Panisse, by its iconic founder Alice Waters, who was and presumably is still a friend of the artist. Goines' name and 1987, the year of the poster's creation, are printed to the lower right of the barrel.
This original limited edition poster is presented in a bleached oak frame with a blue-colored triple mat with brown and light grey inner mats. The frame measures 30.25" high, 23.5" wide and 1" deep. The sheet measures 24" high and 17" wide. The print is in excellent condition. less
