These hand-colored lithographs are from "Character and Costumes of Afghanistan", written by Lockyer Willis Hart (of the 22nd Bombay Native Infantry). The lithographs were created by Charles Haghe from sketches by Dr. James Atkinson (Superintending Surgeon of the Army of the Indus) and published in London by Henry Graves & Co. in 1843.
The first lithograph is entitled "The Kaukers of the Bolan Range", Plate IV and the second lithograph is entitled "Shah Shoojau Ool Moolk", Plate X.
The prints are presented in identical brown wood frames and off-white mats. There is scattered faint foxing, but the prints are otherwise in very good condition..
