I'm not sure if these were originally a pair of chenets or fireplace andirons.....or possibly an architectural or furniture part. Either way, the first one is a heavy bronze figural piece depicting a semi-nude woman wearing a corset or showgirl dress and with legs morphing into a wave. She's sitting atop a bench (custom) made wooden base in Victorian style with turnings and applied floral design. On her head is a (what looks like a later added) finial.
The second one is a nude woman wearing nothing but the wave her legs are turning into (like a siren!). She's also sitting atop a wooden base and on her head is also a finial.
No maker's marks, but likely French.
These would look great together as a garniture set!
Dimensions: each is aprox. 15 1/2" tall overall (the figurine itself is 10" tall including the finial).
The bases are about 5 3/4" wide by 3 5/8" deep.
Condition: very good as shown, with minimal patina and age wear.
