Imari designs were first created in Japan at the turn of the 17th century and have retained classic popularity with the colors of cobalt blue and rusty red, accented with gold on an antique white ground. This lidded bowl is not just a work of chinoiserie art but also a functional item. The lidded style allows for the storage of beloved items, while the generous size of the bowl makes it perfect for displaying, for example, fruits, pinecones and other objects.
This is a nice size at 13" diameter x 7" tall with the lid. There are four protective felt pieces on the bottom, which can be removed.
