Gilt-brass forms the tree trunk and limbs that carry the candle holder and the bobeche from which the glass prisms hang. A large proportion of the original gilt covers the tree. There are a few spots where the gilt coating is covered by hardened candle wax and soot, which indicates this girandole was in daily use.

The star and snowflake crystal prisms are mostly in good condition. There are a few with minor chips or roughness. Six of the crystals are replacements.

The marble base is in good condition with no cracks. There are some "flea bites" along the corner edges.

The girandole is 16.5 inches tall and 16.5 inches wide. The marble base is 6 inches long and 4 inches wide. less
