HAIME chair by Kukkapuro including matching ottoman with webbed feet from the 1960's. This model is the smaller version of the Haime design.
In the 1960s creators were experimenting with fiberglass and molded plastics and so the space age, Sci-fi era was born where Finland was a hotbed of minimalism and avant garde design.
Molded white fiberglass/plastic chair shell with the original white naugahyde/vinyl upholstery. Seat cushion and back (all one piece) is removeable and is attached to back of chair with twist toggles. Under the cushion is a canvas covered foam pad incorporated into the fitted vinyl upholstery attached to arms and side panels.
Base webbed feet of chair is fiberglass. Base of ottoman is aluminum. Some chips to paint on base.
Chair swivels and can rock back and be held in upright or rocked back position by using the ball handle underneath to lock in place.
Condition: Seat has a pin prick hole that has been sealed but is visible. Arm has some pale pinkish discoloration and appears to have had a previous repair. Ottoman has a little shadowy discoloration along part of the 2 seams.
Totally original condition with age related wear and some imperfections. NOT 'like new'
