-Plaques depict French Emperor Napoleon III, his wife, Eugenie, and their child, Napoleon, by J. Peyre (AKA Julies-Constant-Peyre).
-These lovely plaques are from a luxury gallery in the iconic Place Vendome in Paris.
-Napoleon III was the nephew of Napoleon I. He was the first president of France from 1848-1852 and the last French monarch from 1852-1870. His wife was Eugenie de Montijo and their only child was Napoleon, also known as Louis-Napoleon.
-You can find these pieces on the Metropolitan Museum of Art's website.
