An ornate band of ganoderma Ru Yi lappets decorates the upper neck at the lip. At mid-neck there a band of archaic dragon symbols with a band of larger Ru Yi lappets below, flanked by the two, finely carved, elephant head handles. Large, archaic, wisdom eye symbols alternating with stylized peony flowers, are quartered on the body which are bracketed by bands of cloud and thunder meanders above and below. A band of archaic dragons matching those on the neck band decorate the bottom part of the vase just above the extended foot, which is decorated with another band of large, Ru Yi lappets. A two character seal mark in Zhuanshu script is finely carved to the inset base. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century. See less
