The original finish has been stripped more recently, giving the carvings a beige appearance, which is offset nicely by the painted black stands. Each bust is in profile (two figures are facing left, while two face right) and encircled by a cavetto cornice followed by a thicker outer molding. The noblemen have been carved in low relief with various cloaks or collared overcoats and either a closed crown or a lounging cap. Our set of four carved oak medallion busts can be placed on a mantel or library shelf, making for fantastic decorative accessories. less
