Set of three vintage lithograph prints: "Our Pets" by Edmond Castan, engraved by Thomas Brown for The Art Journal, 1871 / "The Spring" by H. Campotosto (print is incorrectly labeled by the publisher as "The Eft" by H. Le Jeune, engraved by J. Stancliffe and L. Stocks, 1869) / and "In the Pasture" by Richard Ansdell, engraved by C. Cousen for The Art Journal 1869. Printed in Italy by Grafiche Tassotti. Framed by Gargoyles Studio Fine Reproductions of Brooklyn, New York. Item number 1003.
"Pierre Jean Edmond Castan (1817-1892) was born in Toulouse. He studied under Drolling and Gérard. He established himself in Paris and exhibited at the Salon from 1844-1874."

"Richard Ansdell (1815 - 1885) was active/lived in United Kingdom. Richard Ansdell is known for Landscape paintings, sporting, dogs. Ansdell was born in Liverpool and educated at the Blue Coat School. He studied under W. C. Smith, a portrait painter, and then worked for an art dealer in Liverpool, before entering the Liverpool Academy in 1836. He first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1840. In 1845 and 1846, Ansdell was elected President of the Liverpool Academy. He moved permanently to London in 1847. It was there that he began to work with Thomas Creswick and William Powell Frith on several collaborations and established his long-standing reputation. "
