Description: This Chinese panel is made from carved wood that has been richly covered in gilding. There are so many delightful … more This Chinese panel is made from carved wood that has been richly covered in gilding. There are so many delightful characters and details that you will discover something different every time you look at it. It dates to the late 19th Century. The back and sides have been painted a lovely shade of red, and there is a brass attachment at the top that allows you to hang it on the wall. I photographed this panel outside on a sunny day so as to capture the richness of the gilding, but it still looks far better in person.

This panel measures 24" high, 16" wide and 2.5" deep. It is in remarkable condition for its age, the only flaw being a crack at the bottom (refer to picture 10). All of the other elements, such as the swords held by the warriors and the delicate window latticework, are intact. less
