This amazing case was acquired at a recent estate sale; we were told it is a calling card case. We are not sure this is accurate as it seems a bit large (perfect for tucking a hankie inside!) or could possibly be for small cigarettes; but it is absolutely amazing for any function! It will hold credit cards and driver's license!
It is marked sterling2482; originally had a gold wash but only a slight tint remains. It has an initial monogram; very hard to read but appears to be MBG. This case measures 3.5" wide; 2.7" tall without the 8" chain; 10.75" including the chain and weighs 3.39 oz. or 95.8 gr. This is a wonderful piece of Victorian history that will be the star of your collection!
