About the Artist:
Jeanet Dreskin earned her BFA from Tulane University, her MFA from Clemson University, and a Medical Art certificate from John Hopkins University. She taught art at The Governors School and the Greenville County Museum School of Art where she was an Adjunct Professor for the University of South Carolina. Jeanet received a top art award at the International Grand Prix in Cannes, France, was inducted into Clemson University’s Hall of Fame, and received the Elizabeth O’Neil Verner Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004, the highest art honor in South Carolina.
Jeanet was Director of the Greenville County Museum School of Art and served on the foundation board for the Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities and the South Carolina Arts Commission. In 1984, Jeanet was President of the South Carolina Watermedia Society, and in 1973 she was President of the Guild of South Carolina Artists. Paintings by Jeanet Dreskin are in the permanent collections of the Greenville County Museum of Art, the Columbia Museum of Art, the South Carolina State Museum in Columbia, the Georgia Museum of Art in Athens, Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, the Gibbes Museum in Charleston, and the Smithsonian National Museum of American Art in Washington DC. less
