The balls / weights move very slowly back and forth every few seconds. It requires one AA battery (not included). Aesthetically this clock shows definite signs of age and wear as most vintage items do. It's surface is worn in places - examine all the pictures closely. The glass could probably do with a clean on the inside - the back is open so it is accessible. Zoom in & out to get a good sense of it's exact condition: a picture tells a thousand words. This is a quite wonderful mid-late 20th Century German Anniversary-style clock. Made by Elgin, it is 6 sided with 5 glass panels (- no glass panel at the back). It is Quartz / battery powered, and it works fine!
Also of interest is the fact that this clock was sourced at the Sony Prop House in Los Angeles which closed down in September 2023. It has an old Sony label on it, so if you think you may have seen this clock in a film or T.V. show, then you probably have! I have no C.O.A. other then the Sony label which I assume was added so as not to lose the clock on a studio set somewhere.
This clock makes a great looking decorative mantel piece and will prove to be great collectors' find.
Size: 6.25" width x 7.75" height (not including handle) x 4.5" depth. It weighs 2lb 5oz.
