Description: This is a very special bench Gerry Schneide did around 2014 for Nantucket Stock Exchange a nautical antique store/gallery that … more This is a very special bench Gerry Schneide did around 2014 for Nantucket Stock Exchange a nautical antique store/gallery that carried her work on the island. She only made a few benches she said because it was too hard to paint on a bench! At the time it sold (first day!) for 1,400. There is one in the permanent collection at the Artist Association of Nantucket gallery as well. Gerri was a very popular artist and known for her scenes of mermaids, air balloons, dogs, and whales painted in oil on wood, often on barrel staves.
