- There are some areas where the mohair gets a little sparse, but that is to be expected on a child’s … moreThere are some areas where the mohair gets a little sparse, but that is to be expected on a child’s toy of this age. The chin strap for his red bridal has separated (under his chin), but you cannot really notice it, if he is upright. The strap that goes around the front of his neck, has pulled out of its seam and I have chosen not to reattach it—but it easily can be! He is missing a red and a yellow pompon on one side of his bridal, too. On his forehead, where the mohair meets the tan felt, a small metal (structural) rod is starting to wear through the felt. I have tried to show pictures of all these “age spots”. His feet seemed darkened from dust, but I was too afraid to wash him, as I had never even noticed them when he was upright! The camel is quite study and structurally sound—he is definitely one of the best looking Steiff camel pull toys from this time period, that I have ever seen! less
