This Really is a Great Looking and Quite Unusual Authentic Antique American Stoneware Storage Jar. Circa Late 19th Century. It is Not Marked as Such but Based on its Size it Appears to be in the Approx. 1 Gallon Size - Capacity. It has a Blue Decorated American Eagle and the Documented Makers Name "SWEETSER BROTHERS - BYFIELD MASSACHUSETTS" That are Done in the "Stencil" Technique. It is in Very Good Original Condition and it Displays Nicely. It is Strong - Sound & Usable. Imperfections Noted - 3 Small Chips on the Perimeter of the Top - Outer and Inner Rim - These Can Be Seen in my Photographs. No Other Issues. Back in the Day These Types of Stoneware Items were a Necessity in Most Of Americas Farms and Household's and They were Made For Everyday - Utilitarian Use. As a Side Note - I Live about 10 Miles from Byfield Massachusetts. Byfield is a Very Small Town and the Maker Only Produced a Small Quantity Of Stoneware Items in The Short Time that They were in Business.
It Measures Overall Approx. 10 3/4 inches Tall x 7 3/4 inches Wide - Long.
