For years, we ordered directly from the factory in England ... when they announced a new color ... and also ordered more- WEDGWOOD BLUE. (larger box listed, too).
The color was created during Josiah Wedgwood’s trials while he was developing Jasperware - he carried out many experiments, grinding colors to achieve a range of hues.
The choice of colors was dictated by the shades most favored for neo-classical interiors by the modish architects, particularly Adam and Wyatt.
The iconic light blue jasper he developed gave rise to the expression "Wedgwood Blue" ...
