He wanders past a small hovel of a home around which two sheep and three cows rest lazily in the sun. High chrome with vivid colors, the use of light is remarkable; shadows cast by the nearby clouds shade the forefront of the brilliant green grass and diverse foliage. We just had this professionally conserved in 2015 prior to cataloging it, the surface in pristine condition and ready to be enjoyed for another decade. The frame is of the period and possibly original to the painting, a complex and gorgeous carved beauty. This is a moving scene that brings life to whatever setting it becomes a part of.

Condition report:
Panel has a gentle curve (see gap between frame and panel). Professionally conserved in 2015, extremely minor inpainting under UV, perhaps 5%. Frame with some element loss on left side, gaps in corners, professional restoration and gilding touch ups. See less
