Silas Seandel created this wall sculpture in the early 1960’s
This sculpture was purchased directly from the artist
Signed on the back (see picture)
20” tall
18” wide
9” from the wall
Mr Seandel was born in 1937’
He was recently commissioned to design a sculpture for the World Trade Center Memorial
His sculptures are all hand made in the Silas Seandel Studio and executed in solid metals such as brass,bronze,steel,copper, etc
There are no enamels, no veneers,nothing unnatural.
All colors are the result of acids and heat treatments which Mr. Seandel has developed
A surprising amount of tome is spent “finishing” the metals
Finishing includes grinding, polishing, and buffing
