This type of cabinet was made for storing clothing much like a dresser.

In Korean, this style of cabinetry is called 농 (nong) or in this case 이층농 (ichung-nong), meaning "2 level cabinet."

Nong cabinets are composed of 2 identical chests made to be stacked. Their design has handles on all sides, allowing for easy separation and mobility.

This nong has a nice aged red color and brass accents throughout. Each of the chests has double doors allowing for easy access to the inside.

This piece most likely comes from Gyeonggi province.
