- Beautiful two-colored marble bust of Queen Marie Antionette born November 2, 1755, Vienna, Austria died October 16, 1793 in Paris, … more Beautiful two-colored marble bust of Queen Marie Antionette born November 2, 1755, Vienna, Austria died October 16, 1793 in Paris, France. Marie-Antionette was the Austrian Queen consort of King Louis XVl of France (1774-93) at the young age of 16. Marie is responsible for helping to provoke the popular unrest that led to the French Revolution and to the over through of the Monarchy in August, 1792. Marie Antionette is also known for her famous quote addressing the starving populace " Let them eat cake." She was ultimately beheaded at the age of 20. Originally purchased by a well- known artist on one of his many trips from the U.S to Europe. The bust had previously been in a home of a large country European estate. less
