This is the rocking chair number 1, which was first introduced in 1860. In 1993 for the 175th company Thonet anniversary there was a new limited edition of 175 pieces for 4400,- Deutsche Mark. Thys rocker is the number 78. The signature is from Claus Thonet, a direct descendant of the company's founder, Michael Thonet. The rocker is in very good original condition, with only minimal signs of use. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
