First and most noteworthy quality of this pair of urn lamps is the onyx stone which resembles museum quality ming dynasty chinese jade because of its rich color and smooth sleek texture, and secondly the size of these lamps is petite and these smaller diminutive urns were made with more intricate detail by the French 19th century manufacturer much like a fine jewelry object ( see my photos of the sharp detail Dore bronze ormolu casting and mounts , even the original acorn finials are solid gilt bronze and show detail very crisply made making it look like a natural acorn ) . less
