This is a collaboration piece between two artists, Archie Ferguson and Cheryl Fudge.

Archie painted over a vintage canvas in bold colors and layers that allowed the paint to drip. He added twigs and sand to the wet paint for dimension.
Cheryl Fudge painted over this with multiple layers of paint and paper for more texture.
The fish is a recurring theme throughout Cheryl’s recent work, and a large one is featured here with a gun handle. The title “The Near Extinct Picasso Gun Fish I” is in reference to having the hope for, and awareness to be gentle with our environment now and in the future.
The collage elements of small fish were created by cutting up a pic from a vintage art book of Picassos “Mandolin and Guitar” and rearranging it. This is the first painting created for that upcoming series.
The sides of canvas all around the pic are dimensional. This was created from gluing pieces of ripped vintage canvas and painting over them. Both artists signatures are on upper left dimensional piece.
About The artist Cheryl Fudge:
In 2021-2022 Cheryl did an entire makeover of the iconic AMERICAN SEASONS restaurant on Nantucket, MA, hand painting almost every inch from the floors, to the bar, to ceilings, and even chairs!
American Seasons has 8 pieces of her art in their permanent collection featured on the walls.
In Dec 2022, she created all of the art for a humanitarian exhibit for Ukraine for CONTEXT Art Miami.
Archie Ferguson is an up and coming artist and film maker, who is Cheryl”s soon to be stepson. less
