This scene is framed in scallops and zig-zags commonly found in African Kuba cloths and African mud cloths, mounted on a hand-forged, hammered iron frame. It is crowned with pointed finials on the top two corners. The zig-zag pattern, paired with the symbolic eyes, tigers, camels, elephants, and a person playing the Kora (a traditional West African instrument), lends a folk style rooted in a specific time and place that may represent a traditional folk tale.

Please note that the screen does not sit squarely in the frame, and it stands slightly slanted. We have put two furniture foot pads under two feet on one side of the frame so that this issue is less noticeable. less
