Description: Unusual set of 4 Antique Windsor chairs attributed to Samuel Moon of Fallsington, Bucks County Pa circa 1814-1818. Related chairs … more Unusual set of 4 Antique Windsor chairs attributed to Samuel Moon of Fallsington, Bucks County Pa circa 1814-1818. Related chairs by Moon are illustrated and discussed in Nancy Goyne Evans book on American Windsor Chairs page 1423 Fig 3-135. Unusual crest rail and arrow shaped spindles. The seats are poplar legs and spindles are a combination of maple and ash or hickory. Chairs were refinished years ago. Structurally they are in very good condition. There is some wear to the finish consistent with age and use. Chairs are 34 3/4" tall, 18" wide at the crest, and 19" deep. The seat height is 17 1/4" . An attractive and unusual set of Windsors and the research has already been done. less
