An early cast, using the lost-wax process, also called cire-perdue. It is a method of metal casting in which a molten metal is poured into a mold that has been created by means of a wax model. Please notice the traces of lead and the clay/plaster left on the back of the medallion

Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos. Very nice even and deep patination developed over time. There is an unobtrusive very tiny minute casting gap to the left of the background (on top of His shoulder), which was addressed long ago by adding lead to cover it, hence the lead residue on the back, discussed previously.
