This 1744 baluster form sterling silver English coffee pot was hammered into its shape as is clear in the photos of the interior. The opening interior cut for the spout bears the same outline as the exterior opening for the spout. The handle is a hardwood, perhaps yew. There is a monogram at the base of the handle. The hallmarks on the underside of the pot are the lion passant, the crowned leopard (indicating a London as the origin,) the letters “w&w” and the letter “i.”
Dimensions: 8” handle to side, 4.5” depth, 8” height
This coffee pot is in very good original condition. The handle has been repaired, and the pot shows signs of wear consistent with age and use.
