Large striking piece by the Polish-Swedish mid-century ceramist Marian Zawadzki (1912-1978) who was a professor and later, artist and ceramist for Tilgmans Keramik of Gothenburg, Sweden. Zawadzki experimentation of the Sgraffito technique and the use of vibrant colorful glazes placed Tilghman's ceramics on the map internationally and his work became exemplary for Tilgmans.
