Georges Antoine Rochegrosse (Versailles, 1859- Albiar, 1938). He was a French Historical, Romantic painter, famous for his mythological subjects, landscapes, allegorical scenes. He made his debut at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1882. He also participates at the Salon de la Societè des Acquarellistes Français. In 1889 he received the bronze medal for the the Universal Exhibition. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
