Extraordinary panel made in the first quarter of the 20th century in China. In this meticulously carved high relief, different scenes of the same battle are represented. These scenes are separated thanks to the different architectural elements that appear distributed throughout the composition in zig-zag. Warriors mounted on horseback carry spears and finish off the enemy, always a war theme in Chinese art. Great profusion of details, a sort of horror vacui, emphasized by the tree branches that complete and unite all the images. Carved and gilded wood, framed with olive green velvet background that highlights even more the gilding. Rectangular and vertical format typical of this type of pieces.
