A sizeable chinese famille rose medallion vase. This vase is hand-painted with the traditional chinese rose medallion motif, incorporating red, pink, and green hues along with gold, yellow, black, and blue accents. The vase body is divided into four panels: two feature court scenes with multiple seated figures, while the others display birds of paradise and a flowering tree. Vertical garlands of gold enamel and pink and green motifs separate the panels. A band of pink flowers and foliage adorns the upper part of the vase body. This is a fabulous vintage chinese vase which would add a gorgeous oriental texture to any space. Dimensions: height: 32 cm diameter: 14,5 cm about famille rose famille rose porcelain is a type of chinese porcelain introduced in the 18th century and defined by pink overglaze enamel. This colouring is created by adding tiny fragments of gold suspended in water to the glaze. The technique was introduced to china from europe during the reign of the qing dynasty emperor yongzheng, who ruled from 1723 to 1735. Production of famille rose pieces continued throughout the qing dynasty until its end in 1911, with the finest pieces appearing during the rule of emperor yongzheng. The term famille rose meaning 'pink family' (together with famille verte 'green family') was introduced in 1862 by albert jacquemart to classify qing dynasty porcelain by their colour palettes.
