It was printed by the Parisian printing house Imp. … more This tandem bicycling lithograph is an original early 1900's cycling advertisement. It was printed by the Parisian printing house Imp. P. Vercasson & Cie., 48, Rue Du Lancry, Paris who was also one of the printers for Leonardo Cappiello's many posters. It is a charming and unique bicycle advertisement. I have owned this poster for 35 years and have kept it out of direct sunlight. I purchased in Chicago in its frame. It has also been framed in Chicago by the reputable Van Straaten Gallery. It is a beautiful soft poster. I have discovered new details in it each time I have studied it over the years and have been delighted by them. I am downsizing and so it is time to put it back into the universe. I purchased it with the steam line on the bottom border. I was told at some point steam was able to slip into the linen border. It is below the actual poster. 100 years old and in incredibly good condition with the lithograph colors well preserved. If you look very closely, you will find some minor age-related condition issues. Pics included. The blonde frame goes well with the softness of the poster and has some weight to it.
